Someone took me to see Riverdance in NYC in 2000, and I was blown away. I have always loved all things Irish, and for some reason.....I have never been there. I have visited England, Wales and Scotland, but haven't made it to Ireland yet. My grandmother (father's mother) had an old Irish Blessing hung up on the wall next to her breakfast table where we would sit and eat her eggs/bacon/shad roe...which I haven't had since she passed away, and now know to be a very Southern/Virginian dish. Below is a clip from Riverdance, and the Old Irish Blessing that means so much to me. Happy March 2011.
:: DESTINATION UNKNOWN :: Virginian. Bohemian, evil twin w/ wanderlust, + true grit. Aspiring polymath, + vehement opposer of hyper-specialization. Escapee of Plato's allegorical cave, + the road is lonely. Nietzsche: ‘there are no facts; only interpretations’. When I'm blue, I get the 'mean reds'. Love coffee, chocolate, sundresses, + Perrier. I have no answers; only questions. I’m only 1/6,697,254,041 of the total population of the world. I’m minute, yet part of the collective soul.
